Educated in zoology and as a medical doctore (Genoa, ITaly), his interest in the Holy Shroud was sparked by a visit to Turin in the 1970’s when a rare public exposition had taken place. He has since that time participated in several international scientific congresses on the study of sindonology (Study of the Shroud) and has lectured extensively on the topic.
